In the beginning...

Hi everyone! My name is Moira and I am a Rotary Exchange student!


SO, I had another blog. It was called 'Adventures'. I am discontinuing it to do this one instead. It is going to be about my upcoming Rotary Exchange. I found out almost a month ago that I was going on a Rotary Exchange, and I just found out tonight that I'd be going to Croatia! It was my second choice, and I'm very excited to be going there! I don't know where in Croatia I'm going yet, but the interweb will know as soon as I do.
Croatia is a rather small country (at least compared to Canada, my home country) on the east coast of the Adriatic Sea. It is just across from Italy. The capital is Zagreb, which is also it's largest city. About 50% of the population speaks English, which is the country's second language. It's first language is Croatian, which I've kind of started trying to learn and so far it's fairly similar to Russian from what I can see, but nothing at all like any other language I've tried to learn.

For right now, I'm just trying to get a job before I go. My parents are dishing out a ridiculous amount of money so I can do this, it's only fair that I make my spending money before I go. I've been applying, but no one wants to hire me. It looks like I'll have to start applying at *gasp!* fast food restaurants! Wish me luck internet!
